Documenting authentic moments through a photojournalistic approach
Hi, I’m Kristen.
I specialize in documentary-style photography, theatre photography and vibrant, authentic nature imagery.
Capturing real, unposed moments that tell the story behind every performance or portrait.
In the theatre world, I photograph the full experience: rehearsals, backstage energy, tech week, master classes, and the moments when young artists step into the spotlight. Every show feels like a new story, and every student inspires me to see creativity in a fresh way.
In the past; my work was featured in Bon Appétit magazine and other local publications, but my favorite achievements are the moments my subjects stand out - showing their talent and personality without holding back.
Outside the theatre; I’m especially drawn to capturing photos of birds, insects, and those weirdly magical moments that most people miss. Like early mornings in the rain, golden light filtering through fog, or a spider web catching the sun just right.
I sell prints of my nature photography for anyone who loves these quiet, magical moments.
I’m also a full-time single parent, endlessly inspired by my daughter and the theater students I work with. Their energy and creativity fuel everything I do.
I’m currently setting up a cozy indoor photography space inside the theatre studio, and one day I hope to open a full studio of my own.
I would also love to someday travel the world capturing photojournalistic stories wherever life takes me.
I take my work seriously, but not myself. My goal is to create relaxed, fun sessions where people feel comfortable being themselves, so their true personalities and stories shine through.
I’m always learning & pushing myself creatively, because I believe growth is the key to great art.
My main photography work at the moment is with Rhode to Broadway
An incredible organization, dedicated to training, educating & inspiring young theatre performers. Through Master Classes, shows & close collaboration with Broadway professionals; we equip kids & teens with the tools they need to grow.
Not just as artists, but as confident, creative individuals
Being outdoors with my camera is one of my happiest places. It’s peaceful, raw and therapeutic
