Portrait Photography by Kristen Beres
I’ve always approached photography as a quiet observer, someone more interested in what’s real than what’s posed. I’m a photojournalist at heart, and an archivist by nature. Capturing candid moments has always come naturally to me. It’s something I’ve instinctively excelled at for as long as I can remember.
I prefer to stand back, watch, and wait. It’s in the in-between moments. A glance, a gesture, a pause, where I find the most meaning. I don’t direct much. I don’t need to. People are most themselves when they forget the camera is there.
This page is a collection of portraits that reflect that mindset. Unscripted, honest, and grounded in the moment. Not perfect, but true.
