Onstage & Off | A Photojournalist’s View of Theater

My theater photography portfolio is a visual exploration of live performance. Capturing the fleeting, unscripted moments that unfold on & off the stage. With a photojournalistic approach, I focus on authentic emotion, raw energy, & the subtle interplay between performer & audience. Rather than staging images, I let the story reveal itself in real time, preserving the intensity and vulnerability that define live theater.

From dress rehearsals and backstage quiet to the height of a performance, my work seeks to document the full arc of storytelling through light, movement, and atmosphere. Whether it's a showcase, or a full-scale performance on a grand stage, I aim to photograph not just the spectacle—but the soul—of each production.

My work is in collaboration with Rhode to Broadway, an organization dedicated to making high-quality theater training accessible & inspiring. Through their lessons, Broadway Master Classes & summer programs; I photograph young performers connecting with theatre professionals - capturing the growth, passion, and joy that define their experience. Whether in a classroom or under stage lights, my images strive to reflect the mission of Rhode to Broadway: nurturing creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of the performing arts.
